Roaring Meg Sewage Farm

The sewage farm on the site of what is now the Roaring Meg Retail Park was opened in 1895, and existed until the 1950’s. Being an old style sewage farm with settling beds and sludge lagoons it would have been particularly attractive to birds. The site remained good for birds after it closed until it was finally built over.
